Hurricane Days

by Lisa on Tuesday: Oct 30, 2012

Yesterday, like the rest of the people living in the northeast, we were battened down here in Massachusetts while Hurricane Sandy came through. We didn’t get a direct hit, but we certainly got hurricane conditions for the entirety of the day. My company sent out an email on Sunday night urging everyone who could to work from home, so that’s exactly what I did. I couldn’t help but be jealous though of the people who actually got to take the day off entirely.

The winds here were so bad during the height of it yesterday that you could not even walk straight outside. I ventured out about 2 feet from my front door just to see what it was like and I nearly got knocked over! But all in all, we fared very well and thankfully there was no damage to any of our homes or cars. Watching the coverage today of what is currently going on in New York and New Jersey is pretty crazy. I’m hoping they can get back on their feet after all of this is over.

Today everything is pretty much back to normal, at least in our city, and now it’s time to get back on track with work and all the other normal pieces of my routine.

Were you affected by the hurricane?

Happy Halloween and glad you are safe and sound, but bummer that you had to work from home and not get a full day off, but working in your pj’s is a PLUS!

      Thanks! You’re right – I can’t complain about working in PJs 🙂

Happy Halloween! So glad you didn’t have any damage from Sandy. We’re in southern Illinois, so nothing here.
