I don’t know about you guys, but it’s hard to believe that January is about to end! That means that it’s officially time to look back at my January mini-goals and see how I did.
Goal #1: Joining Diet Bet – Done! I joined, that’s for sure, and the bet certainly kept me motivated throughout the month to make healthy decisions. I need to submit my official last weight in the next 48 hours, but as of right now I haven’t quite reached the last of my 4%. HOWEVER, this morning I saw the lowest weight on the scale that I’ve seen in quite a while (since mid-November in fact, and even then I only weighed that little for 1 day).

Speaking of weights, why not do a weigh in?
Starting weight: 162
Current weight: 156.8
Total weight lost: 5.2 pounds
Weight left to win diet bet: 1.3 pounds
Weight left to reach my goal: 21.8 pounds
So, as you can see, even though it looks like I might not win the bet, I’m beyond happy that I was able to lose more than 5 pounds this month! That’s more than I’ve ever been able to do in one month before while trying to lose weight. I have high hopes that I can continue this trend into February, especially with bootcamp lasting another 7 weeks for me.
Goal #2: Tracking Calories – I did this very consistently for about the first two weeks of the year, and then off and on for another week or so, and then it kind of fell off the map. However, I think it did what I needed it to – got me thinking about making good food choices.
January has been a tough month and I’m happy that I’ve been able to work so hard on all fronts with some results to show for it. I will do an update on my final Diet Bet numbers in my next post!
