Yesterday was my first day back to bootcamp after my injury from earlier in the week. Things still don’t feel 100% normal, but they’re much improved after the last time I wrote. It felt SO GOOD to be able to work out again. Apparently I like it – who knew! I did the next bootcamp workout, then after, I really wanted to do some dancing, so I threw on Just Dance 4 and had a ton of fun. Today my hip is mostly okay, but feels a little weird, so I”ll probably rest again today, but I can tell I got in a good quality workout yesterday because my ab muscles are killing me.
On a more serious note, I found out over the weekend that a few of my family members are going through some health problems right now, one being my father. He’s been having some problems with his heart over the past few days, but we won’t know more until he goes for some tests on Tuesday. Obviously there’s been a lot of worrying as a result.
It also reminds me of the more serious reasons that I’m interested in losing weight and getting/staying in shape. Heart problems as well as lots of other things run in my family and I don’t want to end up as so many of my relatives have. It may suck sometimes to get up at 6:30 to get in a workout, or to do a million reps of some crazy/painful exercise, but all of it is worth it in the end if it can make you healthier.
Today I’m going to spend some time meal planning and exercise planning for the week, help D with a few things to get ready for his week and clean up the apartment. Everything is always easier when things are organized!
